About Child Life Council
Established as a nonprofit organization in 1982, the Child Life Council (CLC) represents a group of trained professionals with expertise in helping children and their families overcome life’s most challenging events. CLC’s members include more than 5,000 individual child life specialists, child life assistants, university educators and students, hospital administrators and staff, school teachers, therapeutic recreation specialists and others in related fields representing more than 600 organizations worldwide. The CLC has contracted with Dynamic Benchmarking to develop an operations benchmarking study to measure and compare key performance indicators in areas including inpatient care, critical care, surgery, emergency services, radiology and more. Data will be collected from CLC’s members and reported on both an annual and on a quarterly basis.
